The regulatory framework sets limitations and objectives related to various aspects of plastic waste, at European, national, regional, and local levels. These regulations range from the reduction of single-use products to obligations regarding recycling, prevention, extended producer responsibility, and public awareness.

This section of the Observatory is dedicated to gathering, analysing, and interpreting data on current regulations and assessing the degree of compliance in the context of Menorca. The aim is to provide an updated and objective overview of how these regulations are being implemented on the island, what progress has been made, and what challenges remain.
