PEDRES BLAVES ANALYSIS 13/10/2024
On October 13, 2024, a group of 20 people arrived at the cove of Pedres Blaves, a fairly isolated place in the area of La Mola.
From the Plastic Free Menorca Alliance we have analysed more than 1,000 pieces of waste collected, of which the ones we have found the most have been:
- 406 fragments of polystyrene.
- 169 plastic caps and caps.
- 154 fragments of rigid plastic larger than 5 cm and less than 50 cm.
- 95 cigarette butts.
- 43 plastic water bottles
From this harvest we have estimated that 90% of the waste found originated from the sea.
Activity to raise awareness, visualise and analyse plastic pollution subsidised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
