PescArt Menorca is a circular economy project with the aim of giving a new life to the fishing nets that are no longer used by the island's fishermen.

The Plastic Free Menorca Alliance is looking for people and companies interested in participating in the second phase of the PescArt Menorca project, focused on the recycling of fishing nets for their conversion into economically viable products, favoring the creation of a circular economy. To do this, it organizes a new workshop open to any interested person and company on November 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Firal de Es Mercadal Venue.

To attend it is suggested to send an e-mail to

For the implementation of this second phase of the project, the Menorca Without Plastic Alliance has received funding from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), thanks to which it will focus on involving more people and companies that want to contribute by creating products from fishing nets, to accompany and support professionals in the process of marketing them and to continue collaborating with the Foundation for People with Disabilities for the treatment of networks. Likewise, and thanks to the collaboration of Ports IB and the Fishermen's Associations, two containers have been installed in the ports of Fornells and Ciutadella so that fishermen can deposit the discarded nets.
