ANALYSIS CALA TEULERA DAY 21/09/2024

On September 21, a group of 18 people were observing and collecting the waste present in Cala Teulera.

From Aliana Menorca Sin Plástico we have analysed more than 1,500 pieces of waste collected, of which the ones we have found the most have been:

  • 750 fragments of bags and laminated plastics.
  • 263 fragments of polystyrene.
  • 165 plastic caps and caps.
  • 141 fishing waste: ropes, nets, etc.
  • 26 cans.
  • 25 cigarette butts.
  • 25 cotton buds.
  • 25 fragments of rigid plastic larger than 5 cm and smaller than 50 cm.
  • 17 plastic beverage bottles.
  • 11 plastic bottles (not beverages).

From this collection we have estimated that 50% of the waste found had a terrestrial origin and the other 50% came from the sea.

Activity to raise awareness, visualise and analyse plastic pollution subsidised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
