ANALYSIS PLATGES DE FORNELLS DAY 19/10/2024

On October 19, 2024, a group of 20 people did a waste collection in Platges de Fornells in tribute to a dear friend.

From the Plastic Free Menorca Alliance we accompany and analyse the almost 1,000 collected, of which the ones we have found the most have been:
- 566 plastic caps and caps.
- 300 fishing waste: ropes, nets, etc.
- 38 fragment of bags and laminated plastics.
- 13 glasses.
- 5 pots.

From this harvest we have estimated that 50% of the waste found had a soil origin and the other 50% from the sea.

Activity to raise awareness, visualise and analyse plastic pollution subsidised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
